Early Years Practitioners are found in a range of private and public settings. The broad purpose of the occupation is to work and interact directly with children on a day-to-day basis supporting the planning of delivery activities, purposeful play opportunities and educational programmes within the ethos of the setting.
Employers involved in creating this standard include the London Early Years Foundation, Happy Tree and Paint Pot Nurseries.
Our Apprenticeships for Schools education team is here for you. All of our Educators have substantial industry and TA / school sector experience so they are best placed to support, mentor and guide you through to achievement.
Course content
The Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship course content includes: Safeguarding policies/procedures; Own role & expected behaviours; Significance of attachment; Risks & hazards; Impact of health & wellbeing; How children learn; Children's holistic development; Communicating with children; Identify & plan enabling environments, activities & education programmes.
Assessment
For the End-Point Assessment, you will complete a professional discussion based on your submitted portfolio, as well as a knowledge test. The professional discussion will last for 90 minutes and the knowledge test 60 minutes.
How do we support you?
Throughout your Early Years apprenticeship course, we will provide one-to-one contact sessions with your Educator; OneFile eportfolio for tasks, assignments & feedback; regular reviews to track progress and achievement; mock assessments and development feedback; Day Courses to support EPA preparation; 'Prevent' online certificate; Functional Maths and English workshops (if required).
Included Qualification
As part of the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship course, you will complete the following mandatory qualification:
- TQUK Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner
Anspear CPD Platform
We are pleased to offer our Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprentices access to over 100 CPD courses through Anspear. After an initial consultation, you will be ‘prescribed’ a bespoke suite of resources to suit your area of specialism interest.
