Male grooming is now a multi billion pound worldwide industry, this is reflected both in the number of new barber shops opening up and the number of hairdressing salons now offering traditional barbering services to their clients.
You will be learning at our commercial training salon based in the centre of Rugby and you will be working on paying clients. This will give you invaluable barbershop experience alongside building up your practical and theoretical knowledge so when the time comes for you to enter the world of work, your CV will stand out from the crowd .
Course content may include:
• Cut and finish men’s hair• Cut and finish men’s hair• Cut facial hair using basic techniques• Principles and practices barbering services• Shampoo & condition and treat the hair & scalp• Promote products & services to clients in a Barbers/Salon• Barber’s/Salon’s Reception duties and responsibilities• Health & Safety & working in the Industry
Your expected starting salary (once qualified) £13,000 – £17,000 but could be much more when working weekends and adding those extra tips!
During your course we will support you with work experience which will assist you when the time comes to decide on your next steps.
Maths and English
Whilst on our full time courses you will be supported to progress with Maths and English. This could involve taking functional skills qualifications or even retaking GCSES with us when you are ready.
The bursary is a fund to help you participate in learning. It can be used to support with things such as travel or books and equipment and is assessed on an individual basis. Childcare may be supported through the care to learn scheme. For more information visit www.gov.uk/care-to-learn/overview

Yes, it’s not all work work work, with our courses you will also have the opportunity to visit companies and enjoy a wide range of trips and activities. And… a high percentage of young people who attend progress into an apprenticeship, job, or further education.
