Business Administration Apprenticeship

Our apprenticeships are suitable for school leavers looking to start their careers and those already working in a role who want to gain an industry related qualification…

Business Administration Apprenticeships & QCF/NVQs are a nationally recognised route to a wide variety of office professions. The standards that you work towards are set by CFA – The Council for Administration.

The average UK salary for a person in an administration role, qualified to level 3 is £18370.

Intermediate Apprenticeships (Frameworks)
  • Learning while you are employed full time
  • A level 2 QCF/NVQ, a level 2 certificate in ‘The Principles of Business Administration’ and Functional Skills in Mathematics & English
  • Learning on ‘day release’ at a HOET Centre or in your workplace
  • A programme lasting up to 12 months. However you can work at your own pace to finish sooner!

You will cover the following mandatory QCF/NVQ units plus a selection of optional units:

Mandatory units:

  • Manage own performance in a business environment
  • Improve own performance in a business environment
  • Communicate in a business environment
  • Work within your business environment

Examples of optional units:

  • Meet and welcome visitors
  • Improve productivity using IT
  • Use office equipment

Advanced Apprenticeships (Standards)
  • Learning while you are employed full time
  • A City & Guilds Business Administrator Level 3 Standard and Functional Skills in Mathematics & English
  • Learning on ‘day release’ at a HOET Centre or in your workplace
  • A programme lasting up to 18 months. However you can work at your own pace to finish sooner!

Higher Apprenticeships (Frameworks)

This is a brand new apprenticeship that we have started in Business Administration. The apprenticeship includes:

  • QCF/NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration
  • QCF/NVQ Level 4 Technical Certificate in Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT

The Higher Apprenticeship is a progression from the Advanced Apprenticeship or for those in an advanced administartion role.

Options and pay

The apprenticeship in Business administration is usually full time employed with a local employer.

Will I get paid?

Employed apprentices will be paid a minimum rate of £3.70 per hour (often more). Apprenticeship wage accurate as of 1st April 2018.

Anything else I need to know?

Your Business administration apprenticeship is enhanced by two ‘excellence in administrative business skills’ day courses at no extra charge.
