Employer Services - Reforms

The Apprenticeship Reforms were introduced in May 2017 which saw significant changes to both the funding and delivery of apprenticeships as the Government moves towards its target of 3 million new apprenticeship starts by 2020.

An Apprenticeship Levy was introduced for large employers with a wage bill of over £3 million and SMEs are eligible to contribute 10% towards the cost of some apprenticeship training. A new support package entitles all employer to £1,000 for each 16-18 year old apprentice enrolled.

As part of the policy the way current apprenticeship training and assessment is delivered will be changing. Existing frameworks will be changing to Standards, these new standards will raise the bar in apprenticeship training and will involve an end point assessment.

Heart of England Training will start delivering new apprenticeship standards in January 2018, we have already secured approval to deliver Hairdressing, Team Leading and Management with more to be added once the Standards are approved by the relevant awarding bodies.

We will keep you updated on the latest progress and developments through our Employer Updates, Linked In and other channels, including, meetings and events.
