Our management qualifications are designed for practicing managers or supervisors with responsibility for the allocation and monitoring of work to team members.

93% of UK companies recruiting for a management position look for a level 3 or equivalent qualification.

Advanced Management (Framework)

The advanced management apprenticeship involves:

  • Learning whilst you are employed full time. You will be expected to hold a suitable management position to achieve this qualification.
  • A level 3 NVQ, a Chartered Management Institute Introductory award in management and Functional Skills in Mathematics & English
  • Learning in your workplace
  • A programme lasting up to 12 months however you can work at your own pace to finish sooner!

You will cover the following mandatory units plus a selection of optional units

  • Manage your own resources and professional development within an organisation
  • Set objectives and provide support for team members
  • Plan, allocate and monitor work of a team

Examples of optional units:

  • Manage personal development
  • Build, support and manage a team
  • Plan and manage a project
  • Make effective decisions

Higher Management (Framework)

A higher management apprenticeship involves:

  • Learning whilst you are employed in a senior management position
  • A level 5 QCF/NVQ in Management, level 5 certificate in Management & leadership and functional skills in Mathematics, English and ICT
  • Learning in your workplace
  • A programme lasting two years. However, we will support you by working at a pace suited to you

You will cover the following mandatory units plus a selection of optional units:

  • Develop and evaluate operational plans
  • Provide leadership and direction for own area of responsibility
  • Plan change in your own area of responsibility
  • Work productively with colleagues and stakeholders

Examples of optional units you may choose:

  • Conduct a quality audit
  • Manage product development and marketing
  • Build, support and manage a team

Advanced Apprenticeship (Standard) *New for 2018*

As part of the Apprenticeship Reforms, we will be moving from Frameworks to Standards in January 2018.

The Team Leader / Supervisor (Management) Level 3 Diploma involves

  • Learning whilst you are employed full time. You will be expected to hold a suitable management position to achieve this qualification.
  • A Pass / Merit / Distinction in the new apprenticeship standard, CMI associate membership on completion and Functional Skills in Mathematics & English
  • Learning in your workplace
  • You will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence, participate in a professional discussion and undertake a sector specific end point assessment based on your industry
  • A programme lasting up to 18 months however you can work at your own pace to finish sooner!

Options and pay

The apprenticeship in management is usually full time employed with a local employer. In most cases you will already be working in, or towards a managerial position.
