School Business Professionals (SBPs) perform a role which is unique to schools, administering and managing the financial, site and support services within the school context. They provide essential support to school leadership teams, implementing their financial and business decisions.
This apprenticeship can be done as a Level 4 (Advanced) Apprenticeship.

What is involved in this apprenticeship?
- The School Business Professional is an ideal qualification for professionals working within a school in one of the following job roles: School Business Manager, HR Manager, Finance Manager, Office Manager, School Administrator, Business Support Officer and Bursar.
- Apprentices will be eligible to become Full Members of the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL – formerly National Association of School Business Management) upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
- You may need to improve your Maths and English by completing Functional Skills.
How long will it take me to complete this apprenticeship?
The average length of duration is 18 months. However this can be tailored to suit your needs.
Where will I train?
You will train in your workplace and be visited by one of our assessors once every two weeks.
