NVQ - IT Practitioners and IT Professionals

National Vocational Qualifications are a widely recognised route to gaining and maintaining expertise in a particular job role.

You can work towards your IT Practitioners NVQ level 2 with us in our training centres or we can visit you in your workplace; level 3 is usually delivered in your workplace.

QCF/NVQ Level 2

To achieve a full OCR Level 2 NVQ for IT Practitioners, a candidate must complete the two mandatory units plus optional units totalling a unit value equal to or greater than 100 Unit Values (UVs). The units can be chosen from any level, however, 60% of the total unit value MUST be achieved at the level of the qualification registered for ie for Level 2, at least 60 UVs must be achieved at Level 2. A maximum of two restricted option units can be used.

QCF/NVQ Level 3

To achieve a full OCR Level 3 NVQ for IT Professionals, a candidate must complete the two mandatory units plus optional units totalling a unit value equal to or greater than 180 Unit Values (UVs). The units can be chosen from any level, however, 60% of the total unit value MUST be achieved at the level of the qualification registered for ie for Level 3, at least 110 UVs must be achieved at Level 3. A maximum of two restricted option units can be used.

Funding

If you are 24 or under this course will be fully funded. Starting in August 2013, all 25 year olds (and over) will have to apply for a Advanced Learning Loan. These work similar to Student Loans and you only payback when you’re earning over £21,000 pa. For all the information please visit www.gov.uk/advancedlearningloans.

Eligibility: If you are working over 30 hours per week and do not hold a qualification at or above level 4 you will probably be eligible for funding. For those not eligible for funding we are always happy to provide a competitive quote.

You may be eligible for funding for this QCF/NVQ through the Apprenticeship programmes.
